Kumawood actor Kwadzo Nkansah, known in the entertainment world as Lilwin, has announced his burning urge to run for the Afigya Kwabere South parliamentary seat in the Ashanti Region.
Lil Win’s decision to step into the political arena is being influenced by the encouragement and endorsement from local chiefs and elders within the said constituency.
These influential figures reportedly approached him with the proposal of running for the parliamentary seat, expressing their strong support and commitment to ensuring his victory. Lil Win, in an interview with Accra-based Okay FM, revealed that he was initially approached by a group of elders in October 2022.

According to the actor, they had already discussed the possibility of him becoming their MP as an independent candidate and were unwavering in their determination to see him succeed in the election.
He noted their enthusiasm soared after releasing his recent movie, “Mr. President”.
The actor admitted that his initial response was reluctance, but the persistent encouragement from the local chiefs and leaders eventually convinced him to embrace the opportunity.
“The call started coming in October 2022, and they have already engaged my mother, and other relatives on their request, and I have also accepted it“, he said.

With the investment he has made in the district by opening his school, Great Minds, the actor claimed that the residents have expressed their belief that he will be a good leader and better represent their interests in parliament, come 2024.
They are convinced that as an actor who may not even earn much but has been able to build a school and also helped several residents in other ways, I can do a lot if given adequate resources.
I wasn’t interested in the bid from the beginning, but now, I believe I have to respond to the call of my people, he stated.
