The Master of Ceremony (MC) for last Saturday’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Kwami Sefa Kayi has revealed that he was scared to the marrow when violence broke out between supporters of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale at the event.
According to him, anything could have happened considering how tensed the environment was and the display of a gun by one of the factions in the ensuing confusion at the Fantasy Dome.
“I came with my wife to enjoy the show. Young girls and boys present, Ministers of state there, British High Commissioner in attendance and you come up together with Berla Mundi as MCs for the show which was going on well and something happens and guns are pulled, you for look sharp”, he revealed on Accra-based Adom Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
The broadcast journalist disclosed to Captain Smart he was indeed scared for his life and that of other dignitaries who attended the event.
“I was frightened by happenings because it could have been anything. It could have turned into something very unpleasant especially when the free for all fight started on the stage. But for the timely intervention of the security and the few spirited individuals who remained calm, there would have been recorded deaths”, he revealed.
He observed that the situation could have caused a stampede blaming Shatta Wale for causing the whole confusion as he had no business coming up stage.
