Afriyie Akoto To ‘Break the Eight’ For The New Patriotic Party(NPP)

Afriyie Akoto ,who believes the 2024 general election can only be won with himself as flagbearer, says the party will need all hands on board in order to ‘break the 8’ come December 2024. According to him, the NPP cannot break the eihgt-year power barrier if they are not united.

The former Minister of Food and Agriculture was speaking at the party’s headquarters where he submitted his nomination form in anticipation of the forthcoming presidential elections when he made the claim that every rank and file of the party is to come onboard as far as the important issue of ‘breaking the eight’ is concerned. According to Dr. Afriyie Akoto , the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can win election 2024 very easily if the party gives him the nod.

“It has to be the full egg and everybody in this party is important in this respect, especially the delegates who have been given the constitutional powers to choose a flagbearer of this party.

He promised to abide by the rules of engagement going into the primaries, calling on other aspirants to do same.

He, however, expressed confidence that he will be given the nod by the delegates at the end of all the campaign activities.

“I hope that at the end of the day, we will be given the opportunity for delegates to listen to us and make the right choice so that this party can retain power come 2024.”
