Former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer finds himself facing another serious sexual assault allegation as a fourth woman files a lawsuit against him in Arizona. In response, Bauer has countersued, alleging fraud and harassment.
The Allegation and Counter Lawsuit:
In an amended complaint, the woman asserts that she experienced a “violent sexual assault” by Bauer in December 2020, resulting in an unplanned pregnancy. Bauer’s legal team maintains that the encounter was consensual and describes it as a single sexual encounter. The woman also claims to have been subjected to physical abuse, including choking and threats with a steak knife during prior visits to Bauer’s home.

Legal Proceedings and Response
Bauer’s co-agents released a statement categorically denying the woman’s allegations. They revealed that Bauer filed a criminal complaint against her, alleging extortion. However, law enforcement authorities did not recommend charges. The woman’s attorneys have not yet responded to the latest developments.

Dispute over Pregnancy and Miscarriage
The woman alleges that Bauer instructed her not to keep records of the assault or the pregnancy. She states that she became suicidal and sought medical help in the aftermath of the incident. Bauer’s countersuit claims that the woman fabricated her pregnancy to extort money from him. They argue that she demanded a significant sum for terminating the pregnancy, although no medical records were provided to substantiate the claim.
MLB Suspension and Bauer’s Current Status
Following multiple allegations of sexual assault, the Los Angeles Dodgers cut ties with Bauer. An independent arbitrator reduced his suspension from 324 to 194 games, with Bauer currently serving the suspension. He is now pitching for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan.
Future Legal Proceedings: Discovery in the ongoing legal battle is scheduled throughout this year, with both parties anticipating a jury trial by May 2024. The woman seeks compensation for assault, battery, emotional distress, and punitive damages, while Bauer’s countersuit seeks punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.
