Ama Governor , popular Ghanaian youtuber has allegedly been denied a call to the bar by Ghana Legal Council despite passing her exams and interviews. It is reported that, Ama Governor was denied the call beacause she identifies as LGBTQ+ .
The Ghanaian socialite after six long years of studying for her LLM, failed to be called to the bar like all successful candidates because of her sexuality. Sources revealed that, she was denied entry to the bar because she could not be determined to be a lawyer in good standing.
Judging her by her piercings and social media lifestyle, the Ghana Bar Association overruled by denying her the opportunity to become a lawyer.

Twitter has been flooded with divergent views on what people make of the situation. While some agree with the GBA, others believe Ama Governor must be allowed to become a lawyer regardless of her sexuality.
Meanwhile , a campaign is being championed by Pyrex House to seek for justice for the Ghanaian Youtuber. The reasons behind the campaign include the following:
Ama has passed all the requirements the School of Law and GLC set. She has has been a shining example of the hard work and dedication it takes to become a lawyer in Ghana. We need more lawyers who are as open-minded and affirming of everyone as she is.
Anyone’s sexual orientation shouldn’t be a reason to be condemned. She is someone who worked for what she wanted and for that reason she should be treated equally and give the some opportunities. She is someone that wants to move forward, who goes against injustice and that is what Ghana needs.
I’ve been admiring this girl for quite some time to the extent that I even celebrated when she posted on TikTok that she passed her exams and to hear she’s been disqualified due to her “social media” is so heartbreaking because it takes only a smart girl to juggle both social media and “law” and still pass… we need more of her in Ghana hence this petition.
