Lady Chartty celebrated at Kingdom Honors
THE focus of most award ceremonies is to recognise and honour the works of established artistes. However, Kingdom Honors has taken a different path by celebrating emerging artistes for their outstanding works yearly.

Among a number of emerging artistes who were recognised for this year’s event, which came off at the BayView Village, Atomic Junction in Accra on Friday, March 25 was Gospel artiste Lady Chartty.
She was presented with a citation listing her contributions to the Gospel music sector and how her songs have been transformational.
Even though the honour may not be a surprise to Lady Chartty, who has songs such as Everlasting Father, Ahene Mu Hene and African Medley, she thanked the organisers for finding her worthy among the lot for the honour.

She said that her influence as a Gospel artiste was not validated by winning awards or honours but they serve as icing on the cake for the efforts she has made.
“Last year, I was nominated in the Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) and getting this as a top up is motivation for me not to relent in my efforts in propagating the word of God.
“It feels like no one is watching with all the hurdles but at the right time, the glory and honours will come as I’m experiencing now,” she said.
Real name Charlotte Owusu Appiah, Lady Chartty who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications has been a backing vocalist for Stella Aba Seal, Ohemaa Mercy, Efya, Selina Boateng among others.
She established the Chartty for Charity Foundation with the sole aim of supporting the less privileged and orphanages.
She told Graphic Showbiz that her philanthropic works have really impacted her career earning her some reputable nominations in some award ceremonies.
“It shouldn’t always be about winning souls but also supporting those in need. The word of God will mean nothing to a hungry person and that was a lot of encouragement for me to start the foundation,” she said.
