The mortal remains of former Blackstars winger Christian Atsu Twasam has finally arrived at the Kotoka International Airport on Sunday Evening February 19, 2023.

Christian Atsu couldn’t survive the catastrophic Turkey Earthquake which occurred barely 2 weeks ago. The Ghanaian footballer was trapped under the rubble until rescue team found his body on Saturday.
After his club, Hatayspor, confirmed his passing on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement confirming the arrival of his remains in Ghana on Sunday, February 19.

A ceremony was held at the Kotoka International Airport to honor the Ghanaian football star. In attendance were the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana Dr Mamoud Bawumia, the Supporters Union of Ghana, family of the deceased,the media, friends and sympathisers.
The Vice President in a speech has assured government will play a paramount role to give Christian Atsu Twasam a befitting burial.
Atsu’s body has thereafter been conveyed to the 37 Military hospital
