Western Region: 123,000 public school pupils do not have desks in class
It has been revealed that more than One Hundred and Twenty Three Thousand (123,000) public school pupils do not have desks in class in the western region of Ghana.
According to a research by the Africa Education Watch, an Education Policy Research and Advocacy Organization working with Civil Society Organizations, Governments and the Private Sector, they have conducted a research that shows that 123,000 Pupils in the Western Region of Ghana do not have classroom furniture.

Following their research, they have called on the Ghana Education Service and the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum to intervene to help provide furniture for the pupils.
ABOUT EDUCATION IN THE WESTERN REGION OF GHANA
The Western Region of Ghana is one of the Regions in the country which is endowed with many resources ranging from Gold, Diamond, Oil, Rubber, Cocoa, Cashew among others.
However, this revelation by African Education Watch indicates that the state of education especially in public basic schools in this region which is well endowed with many resources.
