Asantehene , Otumfuo Nana Osei- Tutu II together with his wife Julia Osei Tutu have left Kumasi for the forthcoming coronation in the United Kingdom. King Charles III and wife Camilla will be enstooled as King and Queen of the United Kingdom in a graceful ceremony on Saturday 6th May, 2023 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Charles acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother, Elizabeth II.
The ceremony is at the invitation of the King of England, a statement issued by Manhyia Palace and signed by Mr. Kofi Badu, Chief of Staff, has indicated.

The Royal couple will be received by King Charles III in private audience at Buckingham Palace on May 4, 2023.
Asantehene and wife will also attend the official reception of King Charles III for overseas guests on May 5, 2023, before the coronation on May 6, 2023, which coincides with the 73rd Birthday of the Ashanti King.
