LGBTQI+ In Ghana: Dancehall King Shatta Wale Declares Stance On Threads

Shatta Wale, popularly known in the Ghanaian music space as ‘Dancehall King’, has made known his stance on the LGBTQI+ debate when declared on Thread that he is bisexual; asked to be described as such on the App.

Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, the self-acclaimed African Dancehall King declared that he is bisexual, and that funs should feel free to address him accordingly on Meta’s latest social-media app, Thread, which directly takes on Twitter with short missives you can share with followers and lets you post text, photos, links and videos.

LGBTQ has been a topic of discussion earlier this week as Parliament plans to pass the anti-LGBTQ bill into law in the coming weeks.

The Minister for Communication Hon Ursula Owusu on Wednesday lost her cool in parliament when she was described as a practitioner of LGBTQ by one other member of Parliament in the person of Hon. Murtala Mohammed.

‘Ayoo’ hitmaker announcing his presence on the newly established social media Threads mentioned he should be identified as a bi-sexual on the app.

Andrea Owusu, also known as Efia Odo, who is said to be ex-girlfriend of the music star, replied on his post shortly afterward, claiming that this is what she had been discussing.

Even though many consider LGBTQ and its related activities a human rights issue, the leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Speaker Alban Bagbin, regards it a foreign culture which should not be allowed to infiltrate our precious Ghanaian culture and values.
