Dancehall King Shatta Wale, media personality and showbiz pundit Ola Michaels believes, is ineligibility for the acquisition of a diplomatic passport, considering the criteria.
Speaking on an episode of United Showbiz, the popular media figure stressed the point that the dancehall King’s behavior, particularly his tendency to insult others on social media, is not in line with the responsibilities that come with acquiring a diplomatic passport.
“He (Shatta Wale) has a certain character. It comes with certain responsibilities. You shouldn’t use a passport to insult someone. But if you look at someone like Shatta Wale, he wasn’t the only one who was mentioned, yet he lacks decorum and insults our leaders.”
“What good would come from Shatta wielding a diplomatic passport?” Ola Michaels questioned.

Ola Michaels further argued that the volatile temperament of Shatta Wale does not align with the seriousness of diplomatic duties.
Michaels pointed to Wale’s history of insulting people on social media, including leaders, as evidence that he is not a suitable candidate for diplomatic privileges. Michaels criticized the musician for setting a poor example by resorting to insults.

“Shatta Wale performs for himself; he charges for his services. Therefore, he is not unique. Even you, Mz Gee, don’t you deserve a diplomatic passport? Aren’t you also representing Ghana?” Michaels asked.
Shatta Wale, like many ghanaian arts such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Jackie, Samini, King Promise and others, has represented Ghana on many international stages. Is there not a good the country stands to achieve if diplomatic passports are issued to these talents?
