Social media platform Twitter on Wednesday through its blog announced that is allowing advertisers to use their space to market cannabis.
The changes by the company make it the first social media platform to allow cannabis adverts in the United States.
According to the company’s blog, the relaxation of its Cannabis ads policy will have some restrictions that vary depending on a country’s laws and licensing.
The policy is active in Canada and some states in the United States of America.
“Going forward, Twitter is allowing advertisers to promote brand preference and informational cannabis-related content for CBD, THC, and cannabis-related products and services,” the blog read.
